I can do it!

My friend DeAnna and I decided to run a 5K at the end of July. Being I haven't ran since high school, I decided to do a little research and see what the best way to train for this would be. That's how I came across SP. What a great discovery!! Definitely going to spread the spark!

My Goals:
Run a 5K the last weekend in July.

Lose these last 13 pounds!

Long term goal...I turn 40 next year and want to look good in a bikini! Tone that stomach.

My Program:
I am doing interval training 4 days a week and strength training 2 days a week. Currently I am jogging 6 minutes and walking 2 minutes. Hope to increase to 8 and 2 on Monday.
Work on eating more freggies!
Cut back on my emotional eating!

Personal Information:
I live in NE Iowa. I have been married to a wonderful man for nearly 12 years. Our daughter will be 9 years old this year and keeps us on our toes. I am very fortunate to have a very loving and supportive family.

I simply LOVE this site! It is filled with wonderful, supportive people and LOTS of great resources, tools, and information. Since joining SP on January 1, I've already lost 59 pounds! But more importantly, I have GAINED healthy lifestyle habits that will last me a lifetime. I finished my first 5K on Father's Day weekend and am training for another one in August.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. Yes, I definitely think the weather is part of it. Today so far has been an improvement, and as soon as my husband gets home we're going to the Y for a workout, so . . . hopefully I can keep things moving in the right direction.
