original page wording 1-31-11: I have been overweight for most of my life. I have been on many diets that have helped me lose weight, I just haven't been too great at keeping it off. I am a mom of 2 active kids ages 9 and 7. I have decided that it's ok to make myself a priority and not feel guilty about it. I'm ready to be healthy, lose the weight and be active with my family.

"If I had to select one quality, one personal characteristic that I regard as being most highly correlated with success, whatever the field, I would pick the trait of persistence. Determination.

It's in Door County September 20-22nd. We're coming up the 19th and the walk starts on the 20th. It's 20 miles Friday, 20 miles Saturday and 10 miles on Sunday. The kicker is that each person who registers has to raise a minimum of $1,500 so that is a drawback for a lot of people.

That is awesome! If I had known about it I might have done it with you! Maybe next year since my sister may not do the Challenge Walk next year. We're doing it this year though! :) Have fun!

Thanks so much for the lovely goodie and note. I think I finally reached my breaking point with my weight being up and down and everywhere in between my whole life and I decided that I was going to give everything I had to being a successful maintainer for once. Weight loss was relatively easy compared to the sustained effort that's required to keep it off and the At Goal & Maintaining + Transition to Maintenance team definitely makes the process seem a whole lot more manageable. Hope to see more of you over on the team!
