75 Years Old ~~ Still Going Strong!

My name is Eve. The older you get the harder to lose! I have spent my entire life as a slim, healthy woman. My name is Eve. The older you get the harder to lose! I have spent my entire life as a slim, healthy woman. Then at the age of 50 we started our own business and started eating all our meals in restaurants. My slim, trim 124 zoomed up to 150 -- seemingly overnight. I can truthfully say this happened right before my eyes without me seeing it. In fact, as the years went by I became used to the new weight and ignored it. As I reached my 60's my activity level went down, but I never changed my eating habits to balance it. By the time I turned 69 I decided it was time to take action and in Dec. '07 I joined SP. It's been a learning experience, but I wanted to go slow and steady, and did just that.

For me, it's not a DIET, it's a new Healthy Lifestyle, a change in your habits and activity level and is something that will be with me forever! At the present time I have reached 135. I may try for another 10 pounds off, we'll see how it goes.

I am staying positive and looking for the best in life, it's the only way to stay young and healthy. It's wonderful that people of any age can attain it ~~like that elusive fountain of youth, and that's my goal in life!

My Goals:
I've raised the bar on my goal, now want to get to 125 lbs. WooHoo!

Short term: Get to 132 by my birthday in Oct. 2014.

My Program:
I monitor very closely what I eat, I am staying on a healthy food plan. I know that fats/sugars are bad for me so those get eaten in very small portions. I don't cut anything out of my diet completely, just limit the portion.

I exercise 3 to 4 times per week, walk every day and drink water always!

Personal Information:
Originally from MN, have lived in CA & NV --now AZ I got married Jan. 2011 and live in Glendale, AZ with my DH, my Scottie, Amber, and we have a Tabby cat named Luci. And now in May 2014 I adopted another white/tabby cat named Holly. Summers are in the mountains about 75 miles from Phoenix. My hobbies are writing, painting with acrylic and I love interior decorating.

Other Information:
OK, I'm a senior citizen and loving it. I never thought 75 could feel this good. I'm looking forward to the "rest of my life."

Humidity is hard if you're not used to it..Stay well!
I am doing well, keeping busy between spanish lesson in tne afternoon and pickle ball at night. Weight dropped below goal and I saw 133.2 for the first time in over 27 years ( since I got pregnant with DD) and now I secretly aiming for my wedding weight of 130.. (also 27 1/2 years ago) I can hope, right?

Thanks for the comment on my spark page and the suggestion about going to a bathroom further away to get more steps in.I actually go one way down the hall and then circle back the other way making a big square , so I can get more steps in. I do the same taking appointments back to patients. I figure anyway I can get steps is a good thing. I feel so blessed to have so many wonderful, caring friends on Spark people, who are are not only working on their journey, but always there for each other. Have a great day. emoticon
