Starting Fresh... Slow and Steady

The last few months have found my life turned upside down and inside out, and I have coped by eating... getting up to my highest non-pregnancy weight. I'm about to switch roles with my husband and go back to work full-time and need to find a way to take care of myself and manage my stress. My goal is to lose half a pound a week while slowly building new food, exercise, and life habits.

My Goals:
1) Eat more fruits and vegetables in a day than I do fast food in a week.

2) Kick the soda habit. Yummy water!

3) Swim as many times as I can in a week because it makes me feel good.

4) Appreciate my body for what it has given me and reward it with kindness, not food.

My Program:
I'm not following a specific program because I'm kind of a crazy perfectionist and tend to quit the first time I "mess up." Instead, I'm trying to establish healthy habits. The first thing I am working on is tracking what I eat.

You are an inspiration. I read all of your postings - I could swear you're writing MY feelings.

I just told my daughter last night how much I liked the Nike commercial with the heavy kid running down the road - about how greatness is in all of us.

I'm focusing on healthy habits too, and I know the weight will come off. I just restarted a week and a half ago and will stick to it for good this time.

I started my LOVELY journey on 09/05/2006 and I did not expect for it to happen....I lost 30lbs in 4 months!!!

It does become a habit and you will succeed. This is a GREAT site and best of all it's FREE!! You have nothing to lose but weight and you are motivating soooo many which is the BEST FEELING EVER!!
