I am 50 +, 5 foot 4, and need to lose 100 pounds. Lost 75 pounds 15 years ago and gained it back since I hurt my knee 5 years ago. I move much slower due to the injury and can't seem to burn off what I eat. Heard about this from a fellow quilter and hope this gives me the inspiration I need to get motivated to stick to a meal plan and an exercise plan. Last visit to MD - Cholesterol was over 200 and blood glucose was elevated. Lots of help at this website, just trying to figure it all ...

Last visit to MD - Cholesterol was over 200 and blood glucose was elevated. Lots of help at this website, just trying to figure it all out and make use of the information. Most of my hobbies are sedentary and my job has light activity. Very out of shape but under doctors orders to lose 20 pounds in 4 months.

My Goals:
I would like to become healthier and physically able to move around without great difficulty. I need to drop about 100 pounds and I plan to do that by shedding at least a pound a week on average. I have set the bar at two pounds a week but will be very happy with one.

My Program:
Trying to exercise at least 5 days a week. And changing my eating habits. More fruits and veggies and less fats.

Personal Information:
I grew up in Florida (Spacecoast) and now live in South Central Louisiana with my DH of 32 years. No children, just furchildren. We currently have one dog (Meaux) and three cats (Rascal, Tee, and Patches) Our dog (Alf) recently passed away. All our pets are rescue pets.

Other Information:
I am a Christian and I love to sew and quilt. I love to read mysteries and stories about the Amish people. My favorite movies are Fried Green Tomatoes, Steel Magnolias, Misery ( I just love Kathy Bates) and It's a Wonderful Life (and Jimmy Stewart). I love camping in the fall, winter and spring.

Hi just checking in to see how you're doing. I don't see you posting very often on the team threads. Please don't be afraid to just jump in and say hello once in awhile.

Welcome to Managing Diabetes 50+50+. I am a bit behind and catching up on my reading posts and saw you joined. I hope you will visit often and join in reading and posting. We are a really fun bunch, very supportive. Any time you need a little moral support or a place to vent just pop on in. Seems someone is always around because we have members on both ends of the us time zones! I really think your patches kitty is sooo cute. If you need some more Spark support there are teams for cat lovers and quilters also. I go to different teams to read posts sometimes, but I stick to one team as far as posting goes so I don't get too overwhelmed. Best wishes on your healthy lifestyle change journey. SMOOCHIES
