I am 46 and I let myself go when my daughters were born (my youngest is 8). After several traumatic events, I lost all focus on my weight but it is now time for me to re-focus. I'm physically healthy, but I know that can't last if I continue to carry so much extra weight. So...I need lots of motivation. I plan to take it slowly and make lifestyle changes and not try for a quick fix. I'm in this for the long haul and I realize that Jesus will be the One to help me through this part of my journey.

An "aha" moment came for me when I went to buckle the seat belt in an airplane seat and it barely fit...I almost needed an extension. Then, when my thigh pushed up the arm between me and the gentleman next to was evident. I need have let myself get way too big.

I have set some interim goals - I am going to Equador in August and I want to be at the 200 number or below by then...after that, there is a 5K run/walk to benefit a local organization in September and I want to be at 190 by then. With God's grace and mercy, I will do this journey right :)

I am taking things one day at a time; carefully counting calories; choosing healthier food options; cooking at home more and exercising in 10 minute blocks.

I have four children, two cats and one dog.

Other Information:
I am an avid follower of Jesus Christ. I rely on Him to help me through this journey, one step at a time.
