Yes, we are animals, though many humans do not admit it. And I don't mean uncivilized- I mean we have an animal nature that drives many of our actions, and if we don't take them into account, we are unlikely to understand human nature.
i am trying to lose 60 lbs slowly and surely, fall in love with my body (or at least become good friends).
I believe in sensible and sustainable changes, that can be maintained over the long haul.
Married, two young children, I am a school social worker and have lots of interests (including belly dance, as you may have already deduced). I am NEVER bored! On the contrary, working in time for everything is my biggest challenge these days. With little kids, you can be busy all day and still get absolutely nothing accomplished (except maybe happy children).
I have a part-part time business as a henna artist. I love doing mehandi (henna body art) because it is such a collaboration with the person you henna.

Hey Nadja, nice to see you! I guess I lost the tread of our conversation when it switched from SparkMail to my Page.! I actually kind of prefer Mail, it feels a bit more private.
How are you? I hope you are feeling good and have found ways to fit your goals to the new things you are working on. I still did belly dance when I was pregnant, right up until a couple weeks before giving birth! It is said to be very regulating to the reproductive system, anyway.
Yes, I had German in school. One year in high school (I also took Latin), and one semester in college, then I studied again for a term to pass my language proficiency. (I think the only reason I passed was because I made out with the TA at a party just before it though!)
I had a very busy end of my week, so missed logging in Thursday and Friday. I had an all-night mehandi gig, then drama at work to boot. The school year Is ending early busy time. Weight still going down slowly, but I will take it.
My wife and I made a "no second helpings" pact for the rest of the summer. I have such a temptation to get a little more! But I hope to be very serious about changing this habit. I also learned on SparkRadio that plank is the best exercise for working those abdominal muscles that get stretched out when you have a baby and make your stomach sag. I want to do just one minute of plank every day, work up to two or three eventually. It's not just for appearances, I have had back trouble because of that sag!
