Sick of Feeling Sick and Tired

At one point in my life I was a college athlete. 6'4", 205 pounds and in the best shape of my life. My college career ended halfway through my sophomore season and I was 240 lbs when I graduated. A few years later, after getting married and moving from Illinois to Arizona, I packed on another 50 pounds, and suddenly found myself weighing in close to 300 pounds. This was a day I never thought I would see.

Eventually, I lost all that weight through a combination of a different weight loss plan, and starting a vegan diet (which I am now trying to get back to after falling off the wagon for a while). Now I sit here at 255 pounds, the direct result of losing my focus and conviction that food is fuel for the body, not the soul. My joints ache, I am tired nearly all the time, my return to the Standard American Diet has my body rebelling in other ways, and I just started a new job that will require consistently long hours.

My promise to myself:
I will no longer stand for this nonsense. It's okay for me to feel hungry. If I feel hungry and drink some water and the feeling doesn't go away, I know it's time to eat something. No more boredom eating. No more mindless eating in front of the TV. No more feeling sick and tired!
