A little about me...

This is my 3rd or 4th or 5th attempt at making Sparkpeople work for me. I love the idea of it, and when I manage to stick with it I do great. I just tend to move away from the website, and my weight-loss and healthy living goals entirely too easily.

I read my last introduction and I was a 35 year old college student majoring in Psychology. I am now a 37 year old (almost 38) college student with a B.S. in Psychology, working on a Masters Degree in Special Education. Getting a Masters Degree while working full time is difficult and time consuming, which gives me excuses to skip taking care of my physical self while I work on my mental self. I need to stop using excuses.

My Goals:
Long term goals:
Be healthier.
Lose 50-70 pounds.
Fit in a size 8 again.

Short term goals:
Start excercising.
Eat more fruits and veggies.
Fit into a size 14 again.

Immediate goals:
Make it through the weekend without eating too much junk food.


My Program:
I am tracking what I eat with the nutrition tracker, and tracking my excercise with the fitness tracker. I am also making contacts through the message boards. It helps to know I'm not doing this alone.



Personal Information:
My name is Shari, I'm 37 years old, happily married and have pets instead of children. I work a full time job as an administrative assistant. I also do the billing for my brothers landscaping company. I am trying to lose weight to get healthier and be an active participant in my life instead of living through the TV.


Other Information:
I LOVE to read. I read mostly sci-fi/fantasy, but I'll read pretty much any work of fiction I can get my hands on.

    HI there! Thanks for stopping by my page! I love to read, but unfortunately I don't think I will make my goal this year. I am already way behind and there really isn't too much time left. I am kind of all over the map when it comes to reading material. The one genre I am really not into is fantasy/sci-fi. I love biographies, other misc nonfiction, spiritual books, vampire fiction and health and fitness books. I am a weird one. LOL

    The beef stew sounds like a great idea. I will definitely see what I have in the house towards making a bug pot of some kind of soup. That should really help with the cold and the hungry!!

    I will go out and run today if it kills me--and it might because i'm already cold (such a wimp!!)

    What part of the county are you from? I'm having an issue with where to run around here. I go to Fairhill quite a bit but it means driving and they don't call it FairHILL for nothing. I tried Meadow Park for awhile too but I got tired of the circles!! I'd really like to road run but the closest road is 213 and I'm intimidated by my size and the speed of the cars. Does this all sound like terrible excuses? Ahh well, at least I'm still trying!!!
