I work at the YMCA…where people expect you to be thin! I got my job on my first journey. I had lost 80lbs. With diet and exercise I went on to lose 30 more…I was almost there…then my life changed, and my goals changed.

I started school. I have an associates in Graphic Design and I wanted to get my bachelor’s degree. I decided to pursue my bachelors in Multimedia Web design so I could cross-platform my design skills. I stopped watching calories and working out. I ballooned back up ...

I started school. I have an associates in Graphic Design and I wanted to get my bachelor’s degree. I decided to pursue my bachelors in Multimedia Web design so I could cross-platform my design skills. I stopped watching calories and working out. I ballooned back up to 309 this time…UGH….AGAIN, I was defeated.

My YMCA job took me to Orangeburg, and after being inspired by the faithful Y-goers, in December of 2010, I decided to get myself together again. My main block was the fact that I put the weight back on, I had to let that go and concentrate on EACH day as a new journey. Well it is January of 2012, I am at 191, with a total of 41 to go to hit goal. I graduate in May, I want to hit goal around the same time…New job…New body!

If I could give anyone any advice, it would be to cut out the processed foods now! Cook it yourself! There are so many chemicals in frozen foods that we buy, and let’s not mention the grease and processes that go into fast foods. Cook it yourself! Stop with the processed sweeteners, they are bad for your body and your metabolism. Use stevia….. and if you really need sugar, use real sugar and fit it in your caloric intake. CUT out the sodas they are not good for your body….!
