Looking for consistency
My workout philosophy has always been that if I'm not really working out intensely, then what's the point? But after a couple of years of knee problems, once my knee started feeling better, I decided to aim first for consistency and then let the intensity follow. I started SparkPeople in April 2007, wanting to lose about 20 pounds. But after a couple of years of knee problems, once my knee started feeling better, I decided to aim first for consistency and then let the intensity follow. I started SparkPeople in April 2007, wanting to lose about 20 pounds. I lost about 12 before the knee problems started in earnest, and in the subsequent 2+ years gained 27 pounds, primarily from the inability to workout with any real level of consistency because of pain and fear of more pain. I'm now almost back to where I started in April 2007, and I want to continue being consistent with my workouts and consistent with my eating.
