Musician, bookworm, dancer, photographer.
I originally lost 15 lbs. tracking my food on Spark and using Leslie Sansone Walk At Home DVDs, as well as walk/running outdoors.
I've started running more and walking for longer periods, as well as using some Coach Nicole videos for ST and cardio. But this summer, I have slipped...enjoying a little too much food...still pretty healthy but I need to cut quantities and do more veggies consistently.

Don't know when I will reach my ultimate goal. Right now, it is two steps forward, one step back...or vice versa. However, I am hopeful! I do feel consistently fit and at age 67, that's a good thing.

Fave quotes:
"Try Again. Fail again. Fail better." Samuel Beckett

“Don’t trade what you want most for what you want at this moment.”

"Mind like parachute - only function when open!" Charlie Chan

"The only worse thing than having made a mistake is failing to understand your mistake." Oswald Sobrino, Catholic blogger

"This self is not a cage to be escaped, in pursuit of elusive joy: it is in me." CAROLINAMUSED

“The mighty oak was once a little nut that stood its ground.” - Unknown

KARVY09 - "Food's always going to be there. What works for me is tackling it head on instead of avoiding it."

Madeleine L'Engle - "The great thing about getting older is that you don't lose all the other ages you've been."

Marcel Proust - “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”

"Live by the 80/20 rule. Eating nutritious foods 80% of the time and "fun" foods 20% of the time is a healthy goal." - Sparkpeople article

My Goals:
I've reached a major weight loss goal of 139, but I'm now working on maintaining that & losing 5-7 more pounds by the end of August 2012. I've gotten much more comfortable running, and I have more energy for my day! I'm also enjoying fitting into smaller clothes. Thanks, SparkPeople and SparkFriends! Hugs!

My Program:
I've gotten more structured as a result of sparking!
Goal - 3-5 miles a day, either outdoors or with Leslie Sansone DVDs.
I need to do more ST...but a daily structure just does not work for me.
I'm trying a simpler approach to ST, seeing if I can fit in sets of it while waiting for things to cook, etc.

I had worked up to 8 lb. weights for arms but am now back to 5 lbs. for all but the easiest moves.

Personal Information:
I'm from Pennsylvania & turned 67 this summer. I'd like to continue to look & feel younger than that! I'd like to be able to dance and sing forever, and haul my suitcase around Europe with no pain.

Other Information:
I love my Kindle & my local library! I also enjoy contradancing & ballroom dancing, when I can find a partner. I am enjoying learning to speak and read French and I love to take photos.

emoticon We need to do this hike and tell the spiders to go away that day!!! It seems like the towers were cut on purpose, to 'modernize' the building. See what Wikipedia says:
"Le petit-fils du Grand Condé avait décidé de démolir le château en 1728 ; les tours furent seulement tronquées en biais et recouvertes de tuiles, c'est ce qui en a fait son charme architectural par la suite."
They sometimes had strange ideas in the 18th century! :)
I hope your writing is progressing really well and that I'll see you again in Paris in the next few months!

You're invited for coffee. I promise that it's flavored with cinnamon and not chili powder. Maybe one of these days I'll see something about what you've been up to since returning from Europe. Have you found people who are fluent in French?

I absolutely understand the need to go "A.W.O.L." for a bit, to deal with feeling like you are over-focusing on weight and food - boy oh boy, do I understand that. I think this is the place where we can come and go and contribute and enjoy the time we are here, and not apologize for the time we take a little break. Always happy to see you and hear from you. emoticon
