Like most others, I have lost and gained the same 10-15 lbs. many times. I have come to realize that it gets harder to lose weight the older you get so I need to stop procrastinating and GET IT DONE! I find that after losing 10-15 lbs., I feel great but then let myself get too comfortable and quit watching things like I should. I would like to banish those 10 lbs. forever.

My Goals:
I have lost 15 pounds over the last few months and would like to lose about 10 more. I am not unhappy with my weight but believe I can be stronger. It is difficult for women to be happy with their "normal" weight given the media images we are subjected to. I have run 2 5k's this year. My goal is a 10k. I run anywhere from 2-4 miles outside when I can.


My Program:
I belong to a health club where I regularly use the elliptical trainer and Life Circuit fitness equipment. I walk/jog on a treadmill at home and take my dog for long walks in addition to the running outdoors. I need to focus on more strength training.



Personal Information:
I am from Illinois, actually about 30 minutes from St. Louis. I am 36 years old. We have 2 children, a daughter aged 12 and a son aged 7.


Other Information:
Love to read and scrapbook with my friends. My family is very sports-oriented. My kids play soccer, basketball, baseball and some golf. We are all pretty active: bike riding, walking, practicing sports, swimming. We love the summer and being active outdoors. Favorite sport is baseball. GO CARDS!

    Hey there! It was fun to see that you stopped by. YES, I am still plugging away at this, striving to be smarter with my choices. Work has me in a tight vice at times, and I don't prioritize my workouts or Spark like I did. I am planning to change that! I hope you and your beautiful family are well. I will have 2 in college next year -- yikes! getting old!

    Thanks Sara Jay for the spark goodie! You're such an encourager! Yes, I'm very, very excited about the new MTC challenge, but I may not be after the first day or two (LOL) so we'll need LOTS and lots of "atta-boys" along the way. I'm so glad we're here together and am looking forward to seeing greatness in all of us!

    Hi Sara! Thanks for visiting my SparkPage and your encouraging comments on my weight loss AND my paintings-- I LOVE to paint!

    I joined Spark People and started my weight-loss journey Sept. 18, 2007 and I have lost 42 lbs & 14 inches during this time... through the holidays and through my daughter's wedding. The reason, I believe, is that I have found that elusive key... ELIMINATING EXCUSES!

    My positive attitude is what is different for me this time. Historically, I have put myself on "diets" and moaned, groaned and complained to being deprived... I had DIET RAGE! This time it is different. ELIMINATING EXCUSES is my mantra... Only positive thoughts and motivational attitudes...its the elusive key to weight-loss success and a happy life!

    Have a GREAT journey... and remember to eliminate excuses that keep you from attaining your goals and you WILL get there. WE ARE STRONG! WE CAN DO THIS!!!
