I was a bridesmaid at my friends wedding. I loved our wings! Everyone had a different color.

Here I am in Malta. It was a great trip, but after seeing this picture and another like it . . . that was it for me. I really don't like how I look in this picture.

Dreaming Away

After seeing pictures of myself on my trip in Europe I found I hated them. I didnít have many but the few I did have I looked awful in. So with that I decided I need to get my weight under control before I couldnít or it at least would become more difficult. I was also tired of feeling bad for myself, so it was time for a change. Change what you don't like and accept what you can't change, or however that quote goes.

I began walking. Nothing else, simply walking. Amazingly enough I began to slim down and people noticed! I got compliments from family and friends. I was so excited. As the summerís end drew near I would begin working full time on night shift. I worried I wouldnít keep up with my walking and be back to where I was at the beginning. I wanted something that would help keep me motivated and accountable, Spark People seems to fit that bill.

ďSo let's give this a try.Ē Thatís what I told myself. I was reminded one day of a favorite quote of mine. ďDo or do not. There is no try.Ē ~ Yoda, in Empire Strikes Back. Iím not trying any more. Iím doing it!

My Goals:
Get down to 150lbs OR fit into size 8 jeans. Either one will make me happy, although according to BMI 150 is still to heavy for me. Sorry but the one time I was within range I looked awful!

My Program:
Walking, a lot! About one hour a day covering about 3 - 3.5 miles on most days of the week. 4 or 5 depending on how busy I am. Grand total of 15 miles a week at least! (More is good to . . .)

No soda! or other high calorie drinks. (If I do have something like that it's not more than once a week.) Generally I just drink water and unsweetened ice tea.

Hey!

I am sending out a personal invite to all my spark to The Rocky Summer Challenge, a challenge that is designed to help you build strength in your core, upper body and lower body along with building up your endurance in cardio while also combining the fun of ďThe Biggest LoserĒ weight loss idea. This challenge starts on June 1st and will last 4 weeks. Sign up are on my team, ďThe ChallengeĒ which is located on my sparks page. (The thread is in the introduce yourself forum). More info is included there too (you donít have to join in order to see the info) and you can email me a request for more details before joining.

We have done this challenge before (before the team was started) and it was a huge success. The request from spark buddies, who took part in this last time, has been tremendous so itís coming back!!!

I encourage you all to invite a buddy to the team (everything is more fun with a friend) and if you do so, Iíll be pairing you both (or how ever many) onto the same team together. Remember the more the merrier!
