"It's never too late to be what you might have been."
Since joining SparkPeople I have lost 45 pounds. I weigh less then I did in high school and I am by far in the best shape of my life. I have made a complete lifestyle change and will never again go back to my sedentary, fast food loving ways. With a little hard work and determination anyone can do it! My highest non pregnant weight was 155 which I stayed at for about 5 years before deciding to get serious and really do something about it in 2005. I managed to get down to 113 ...
I managed to get down to 113 before getting pregnant a month later. I gained over 60 pound during my pregnancy, putting me at 176 at the end. I had lost weight so fast that it wasn't a real lifestyle change and during my pregnancy I returned to my old ways of eating too much and not exercising at all. Afterwards, the first 25 pounds came off on it's own within the first few months. My weight then settled in the mid 150s leaving me where I'd started before I'd lost weight the first time. It was frustrating to have to lose the weight again, but I'd done it before and I knew I could do it again. In my quest to lose weight I fell in love with running and believe that it has been instrumental in my success. It's so helpful to have goals aside from a number on the scale and running has done that for me. I now have a drawer full of race shirts, a bunch of finisher medals hanging proudly on the wall and the desire to see how much further I can go. I have run in a bunch of 10Ks, several half marathons and this fall I will attempt my first full marathon. Right now it seems like pretty huge goal to try and achieve, but I remind myself that a 10K once felt impossible. **************************************** *********************************
