I'm a 31 year old mom of two beautiful girls. I'm married to a wonderful man. I ran my own business for 6 years and just closed shop to go back to school. I have every reason to be happy, but one- my weight. Although I really didn't realize just how bad it was.

3 years ago my family took a trip to Disney World, and later on when I was going through our pictures, I saw one of myself in a green tank top on a water raft ride that just about made me cry. I've always known that I need to lose a good chunk of weight, but what I see in the mirror and what that picture contained weren't even remotely close! I couldn't believe it! What a wake up call!

So now I'm on a mission to become strong, healthy and self confident- in a fun manner to ensure I keep it up. I want to be a good role model for my family. I want them to see a healthy lifestyle can be fun.

My absolute biggest fear is that my daughters pick up on my negative body image and begin to adopt one as well.

I have recently discovered the awesomeness that is Zumba and am consumed by it! I am going 3-4x a week and aim to build up to 5x a week. My 10 year old daughter is coming with my twice a week and she is also hooked. What better way to have mom/daughter dates then dancing our butts off?!

It is SO MUCH FUN and I have begun to see the inches disappear! If I wasn't such an introvert I would absolutely consider certification to become an instructor once I reach my goal body. Who knows, maybe underneath it all that person is hiding and is just waiting to come shine?

I just tried on some pants that had been hidden in the back of my closet for the past 5 years because they were waaay too small- and they fit with a tiny bit of room to spare! This is incredible motivation to me to keep pushing!

So here I am, and here I go!
