Hi, I am a mother of now four girls, a wife to a great husband. I recently moved to NYC, where I love my job and the energy, and am getting used to the other parts:)
I am a BC survivor for over 9 years, when I had a mastectomy on my right at the age of 28. June 25, 2008 , I had DIEP reconstruction, which entailed removal of my left breast and reconstruction of both, using the fat from my lower abdomen.
I did this operation so I will reduce my chances of every getting BC again. I now have God willing a less than 1% chance of ever getting diagnosed again.
Phase 2 of the DIEP will be lipo of the breasts to make it look natural and smooth (and symmetrical)
UPDATE: I found out I was pregnant at the time of surgery.
9 months later, we have a new baby girl! A miracle baby, since we were totally not expecting anything like that happening again.
So after not exercising because of the surgery, and then getting too big to really excercise, to having a C-Section - I am just now getting back in to things.
October 2010: My baby is now 18 months and I realized for any change to happen, I had to change. I've started writing down what I eat and I've been working out every day. Look forward to a new changed me!
January 2011: Seeing changes in my clothes and on the scale - not as fast as I'd like, but I am committing now to cleaner eating and hope to see dramatic changes! I've been eating 85% clean and now I am going to up my game. I bought BFFM and I am looking forward to this next step in my journey!
April 2011: I just had stage II of the reconstruction, and I am very happy with the results. Very sore... but looking forward to being able to continue exercising!
Starting weight: 180
I want to be 18% body fat by my birthday in August.
October 31 - 176 - done!
November 30 - 170 - done!
March 30 - 164 - done! Slowed down the weight loss, need to get back into it so I can be a size 8 by my birthday August 12!
I am logging my food daily.
I am doing Chalean and Turbofire hybrid.
I look forward to starting to bike ride several times a week to mix up the cardio!

I have a 5yr old that keeps me on my toes….a house to keep up (like all of us woman...LOL), and a full time job as a business analyst. I also own my own fitness business... which is my true passion and love!!! I get to help others by sharing with them the products that have worked for me. I also help keep them motivated and am there for them every step of their journey :-) I finally feel like I am doing something I love and have a passion for. The rewards are endless. I LOVE to spend my summers outside either doing yard work or playing games with the family. I really look forward to chatting more - Take care!

Hi ... I recently spoke with my oncologist and she said that I can still eat soy products like burgers, etc. because the amount of soy/isoflavones is very low in those products. She also said that soy actually has a protective effect and she cited how Japanese women have been eating soy products like tofu and have a very low incidence of breast cancer... I am PR positive and post-menopausal, so it is not likely that soy would affect me, so use your own judgment for this.
That being said, I still eat it in moderation. My main source of protein is chicken, fish, turkey and protein shakes... A very tasty protein powder, in my opinion, is made by Gold Standard... I buy the Mocha Cappuccino from this site:
It taste really good with skim milk and I really don't like protein powders. They are having a sale on the 1lb container for 11.99... you could try it to see.
I just can't get enough protein with meat and to be honest don't want to... I eat semi-vegetarian sometimes. Another thing to try is wheat gluten or Seitan... this is high in protein... You can make your own, but they do sell products made with this protein... very expensive, so I tend to make mine at home.
- Cottage Cheese also has 14 grams of protein per 1/2 cup
- Egg whites can be eaten freely and they are a great source of protein.
- Beans, although they contain carbs, they also contain fiber, which lowers the total amount of carbs and are a ok in protein for variety.
- Plain protein powder can be used in oatmeal, sugar-free yogurts and sauces, etc.

Thank you for stopping by my blog... You are so funny! ... I hope so... I was actually surprised that I'd lost anything, so I'll take it, no matter how small the number, it is a big accomplishment for me!
on your weight loss as well... We are around the same weight. Keep up the good work. ...
