The Quest of the Holy Grail

My name is Sarah. I am soon to be a senior in college. I am an English major with an interest in creative writing. I love to read, write, listen to music, and Harry Potter.

Healthy Living Goals:
1. Being happy with who I am and what I look like.
2. Become healthy enough to play Quidditch for HOURS
3. Learn to be less dependent on cars, elevators and other nonsensical forms of laziness.
4. Learning to appreciate hard work and exercise.

I have decided that I am on a quest for the Holy Grail here. The grail being happiness with self. I believe that by changing my lifestyle to being more active, less dependent on technological advancements that also only increase our laziness as a species, and being able to trust my body. I would like to think that if I were ever to need to survive the Zombie Apocalypse, I would not be one of the first ones to die because I was not physically ready for it.

I just want to be comfortable with who I am. That does not necessarily mean being at a certain weight or looking so good in a swimsuit, but I believe that I will know when the journey has ended when I finally get there. I will wake up one morning and feel right. I will just know that I have reached my peak when I look in the mirror and finally see the person behind the body that I want.

My Goals:
My goal is to be the healthiest I can be. I want to be happy with who I am no matter what I look like, but I want to be able to run around with my friends, play sports and not get tired quickly, and be confident in what I look like on the dance floor (which might take a dance class along with getting fit considering how horrible of a dancer I am).

Another motivating factor behind getting fit... being able to survive the zombie apocalypse. Fatties go first... so I need to prepare. =]

My Program:
I exercise 6 days of the week- I play tennis 3 times a week and coach quidditch 3 times a week. I want to start eating healthier and stretching more.

I also want to become more flexible to improve my motion and circulation. It will help with my sleeping, tension, and my peace of mind (at least I hope)

Personal Information:
I am originally from Naperville, Illinois. I went to school at Augustana College. This year I am moving to Martin, Slovakia to teach English. During this trip, I hope to learn the European lifestyle along with teaching myself good life habits. Considering I'm an anglophile, I shouldn't have a problem with this.

During this adventure, I will be keeping an online record in the form of a blog (other than on here). You can see what else I'm up to at sarahswindall.com!

emoticon for joining the "Writers" team. I wish you the best of success on your journey to better health and fitness and with your writing. I enjoyed and chuckled at your phrase regarding cars, elevators and other nonsensical forms of laziness. Never lose your sense of humor! emoticon -- Lou
