After a few years of on off losing/gaining...I have been consistent onSparkPeople for the past 3.5 weeks. It is so helpful, to post what I eat, track my exercise and stay motivated. The ease with which to do it, really keeps me motivated. I want to check and see how I am doing. The different reads and sites with the interaction of people is ever so helpful. I'm a little below goal in my calories, but it just happens when I seriously start losing weight and I compensate with extra vitamins. I think my stomach just sort gets smaller and says "I'm full". No Sugar, water, no oils/fats, dairy (for now), meats (for now)...veggies/fruits/grains/beans/seeds/n
uts... I feel full and able to maintain the energy for my exercises...as to keep firing all the spark plugs..., so that I can lose the weight.
Most of my adult life, I have been overweight and I look forward to winning the battle of the bulge and reclaiming an ideal weight for 5'3" tall. I'd feel healthier.
I plan to put SparkPages through a work-out and do it!
3 days of weight training: upper and lower.
3 days of Aerobic excercise: Biking, walking/hiking
Eating less calories: but with a plan and purpose. High protein: eggs, egg whites, fish, chicken, turkey, lots of green veggies, a fruit a day, less than whole milk and plenty of water.
I live 30 minutes from Birmingham, Ala. I'm from Florida. My husband is from Birmingham. We've been married a long time. We have 5 grown children and one grandson.

I enjoy reading, sewing, and working out with friends. Cycling has become a wonderful past-time for me. Joy is Jesus, My family and friends and others, and me. Sometimes I can get it all backwards.

Dee, yesterday I made bread with non-GMO flour; a company that has made their flour with same kind of wheat for 200 years, organic. The texture of the dough was 'wow', very good. I had a roll last night....no bloating, felt good. I may have one now and again. I had no wheat for 18 days. I'm still going to try to do basic wheat free and sugar free; but allow myself once in awhile to indulge, but be mindful of my calorie count. I keep exercising regularly and counting good nutritionally dense food, vitamins and water (lots of water).
I'm like you, not that interested in making substitute for the wheat, if it doesn't taste good. Not much use to me :-)

I'm sorry it took me so long to get back with you. I'm currently doing very well without wheat and sugar. I've been experimenting with substitute bread products made from almond flour, flaxseed, garbanzo bean flour, and coconut flour. I don't eat much of them but they help when I just need bread such as a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and pizza crust. Most of them weren't very good but I've found a little something to help. I've been losing consistently except when I throw in too much salt.
The things that stand out most are the fact that the weight comes mostly from my belly and that I don't crave any of the junk.
Today will be day 16 for me.

I'm just having trouble tracking with my food intake at this point. We now have a stationary recumbent, so 'no excuse' for me, with our increasing wet weather.
