After turning 32, things just started to go downhill with my body. Then I had a baby at 35. Never got back to the top of the mountain. Usually didn't have energy to make the bed, much less exercise. I would like to get healthy enough to dance like a wild woman in the living room on Saturday nights with my kid.
This is how I got started. I had already planned an appointment with a diet doctor for my Christmas present. But I had just started nasal steroids for allergies and had to wait until Jan. 5th, 2010 to start the medicine. The day after Christmas, my 22 year old Tiffany moved back to Chicago with her boyfriend. So I was already depressed on New Year's Day when my sister (who lives two blocks away) announced that she was moving back to Oklahoma (our home town).
I spend a lot of time with her children (they are always over here). And now I feel I will be all alone (just Gracey and Me). So I am curled up in a ball, crying and puking for several days. Good news to my doctor though, I lost five pounds in five days before I even started the pills.
I also began loosely counting points (weight watcher's style) and cutting my portions. My doctor insisted on 30 minutes of cardio three times a week. Well I was unable to sustain cardio for more than a minute, three at the most. But I was fast walking around my living room and kitchen, jogging as long as I can, and strength training. Whatever I did, I tried to keep it up for at least 30 minutes. And if later on in the day, I feel able, I squeeze in another ten minutes, even if it is just walking.
I found sparkpeople on January 20th and signed up for it. Now I am trying to track calories and fitness on the computer as well. I like the idea of listening to one upbeat song each day and blogging or writing journal style. Since the 5th I have lost twelve more pounds and that is a total of 17 pounds. Now my goal is to get down to 135 by June 2010. If I can loose two pounds each week, I should be able to do it. Wish me luck!
Cum On Feel The Noiz
Today, I listened to Cum On Feel The Noiz by Quiet Riot! I danced for three minutes. Well the best I can do anymore. I did my walking for 20 minutes, push ups, crunches, and some bar bell work on my arms. Legs are too sore from the past two days to do much else. And this was all without taking my adipex. I am trying to skip some days (three each week) and see what I can manage on my own. Of course, I still have a lot of house work and don't even have the strength to shower, lol! At least I can joke about it.
I want to go from 170 to 130 by June 2010.
I will strive to loose 2 pounds a week.
I at first set my goal to walk 10 minutes a day and do some strength training. Now I am doing at least 30 minutes of walking and then stretching and strength training.
To watch my portions and include healthier foods, while still indulging in the ones I can't live without. Was surprised that I could do without soda every day. Still can't give up a small snack size hershey bar though.
To be strong and have a lot more stamina.

I am loosely tracking points from an old weight watchers book I have.
I am striving to reduce portions and to cut out as much fat as possible.
I am trying to drink 8 cups of water a day, only been able to do 6 so far.
I am using the "Walk Away the Pounds" vhs tape for a base program. It is great and I can do it right here at home with my little one! Trying to walk at least 10 minutes every day.
I am choosing one uplifting song to listen to each morning (a different one each day). Dance as long as I can and then blog about it.
