The most important things anyone should know about me is what is supposed to go here, right? :) So here goes: Single mom to 2 (mostly) awesome boys. They're teens so we do have our bad days. :) I like most of the foods that are lower in fat/cholesterol. Big on Mexican and Mediterranean. I kinda like vegetarian but still need to get used to eating certain stuff. I like martial arts, and try to practice on my own when I can. Not much room at home, tho, and it feels weird to do it out in public alone. I also like running, crocheting, music (really like that! lol ), kayaking/canoeing, and hiking. Not that I do many of these things much, but I enjoy them when I have the chance to do them.

My Goals:
My main goal is to get my body fat percent down to a healthier number. I'd be happy with 20% since that's about in the middle of the acceptable range. I'm not as worried about my actual weight since I expect that it will remain the same with the change from fat to muscle.
My Program:
I'm starting slowly and doing a lot of research to find ways to work around the obstacle(s) I have to deal with. I have thyroid disease and, as anyone who has this knows, losing weight when you have this is a MAJOR up hill battle. :s I've found a book, though, that seems to be helping and I am trying the diet that it suggests (gluten free). Between that and joining the team in training organization I seem to be making a small amount of headway. I'm also looking for ways to keep myself motivated. Not an easy task but I'm working on it. This new diet is helping me have more energy and I'm sleeping better, too, and the combination seems to be helping me stay more motivated all on its own.
Personal Information:
I live in New York State.
