Keeping it short and sweet...Yes, I am on the short side but what I meant by that is that I want to keep my replies/posts short and sweet until I get my walking computer station! Being on SP defeats the purpose and just continues the cycle of inactivity which is what I want to stop doing. I am married and thankful that my spouse does not make my weight an issue...except when he wants to go for ice cream! I have two young adult children and work full-time as alternative teacher of adjudicated teen girls. Growing up in a Greek family restaurant, I have become a reality food show junkie and love Top Chef and Hell's Kitchen. I love trying new foods and restaurants. I welcome any help in achieving my goals.
I just celebrated my 53rd year...and am at my highest weight...and want to stop that trend! I followed SparkPeople on Twitter (@Sweetland) but never got around to joining here. I'm looking forward to learning from your experiences.
I live in the central PA area and was born in Adams County. Hoping to pick up some good habits here!
Happy Slimdown Journey,
Sandy

“Above all else, do NOT quit! The universe always bows to persistence.
The empowering approach is to see your physical challenges as assets,
because overcoming obstacles forces you to develop discipline, determination and character.
These traits will carry over to other areas of your life and make you a stronger person.”
-Tom Venuto

Greece isn't that far from Poland! My parents and I immigrated in 1952. emoticon emoticon

Have to ask, are you by any chance of Polish descent?
