Ready, set, go!

When the chef told us our uniforms wouldn't be fitting before too long, she wasn't kidding.

Since graduating culinary school in '09 I've regained all of what I had worked so hard to lose after the birth of my daughter and believe me, I'm not proud of it one bit. But what's done is done.

So here I go again -- ready to lose the fat and firm the flab through smaller portion sizes and daily activity once and for all.

My Goals:
Lose the flab and firm up.

My Program:
Smaller portions and daily exercise.

Personal Information:
SoCal

Other Information:
I have a friend who goes dancing on Saturday nights, plays tennis, surfs, bodysurfs, hikes, rides her bike and has a beautiful body because of it.

She says, "I'm athletic."

No doubt. Who says working out has to be unpleasant? It can be and should be fun if it's to become a lifestyle.

Because who wants to commit to working out in a gym for the rest of their life?

Not me.

The good news is, I lost weight. The bad news is, I just got over the flu.

Carry on.

I haven't been keeping careful track of my meals for several days because of the holidays. Too many potlucks, family dinners and whatnot. And tonight we leave for Machiasport.

My advice to myself: Keep portions smallish, no seconds and drink more water than wine. In fact, keep wine to a one-glass minimum.

Also, get outside. I know it's going to be freezing when you get there but do try to go for walks as often as you can and for as long as you can stand it.

I'm rooting for you, S.
