My sweet husband and me on vacation 2012
My handsome husband & me, July 2006
My son & me on vacation 2012 - I have to look waaay up to him, but he's still my baby!
It is really eye-opening to come back on here after a 1+ year hiatus and see all of my 'old' goals. Hard to believe I've been gone that long, and that my old starting weight was about 20 pounds lighter than I am now. Oh, well - I'm back again and that's what counts. Setting a new goal of -10 pounds from 4/17/14 to 6/17/14.
*Exercise at least 3x week, or 150 minutes/week.
*Eat 1500 calories or less per day/6 days a week.
*Allow myself one day to eat without tracking, but without overdoing it.
*Focus on positive changes.
*Goal to lose the first 5 by 7/16/12 (Done!)
*Next 5 by 8/20 (yep-by 8/13!)
*Lose 1 pound/week to reach goal by August 2013.
*Eat at least one fruit and one vegetable per day.
*I will eat within my calorie range.
*I will log in my nutrition.
*I will get active.
My husband, son (who is 17), & I live in a small town in south Arkansas. Two sweet little companion dogs, two crazy cats who despise each other, and an old junkyard dog round out our little family. Everything I enjoy doing requires sitting, so I'm trying to find a hobby that gets me off the couch a little more.
I mostly am a SAHM, but I volunteer at church and with my son's school activities. I knit/crochet and sometimes like to cook. Love to read! My favorite way to relax in the summer is to get on a float in our pool - after liberal sunscreen application! Also love to shop for antiques, although my taste is more 'junktique'.

I have been away for months due to a serious illness. I am still recovering after 6 months. I am doing much better, though. Back out in my garden. I have a bigger garden this year. Hubbie lost his job due to the company moving it to Thailand. He decided to just retire after his job ended April 1. So he helps me around the garden and yard. I love having him at home all the time. Of course we do get on each others nerves sometimes. lol Please let me know what is going on with you. Miss talking to you!

Dropping by to say hi. I haven't kept up very good, because of my last back surgery. Still recovering. I am still losing weight so far. I am not able to exercise very much yet, but staying active as possible. How are you doing, my friend. I hope you are able to keep with your healthy habits! Hugs!

Thank you so much, Sandra for your prayers and encouragement. It is very comforting to me. I spent all day at the heart doctor with test and waiting. She gave me the go ahead for surgery. She hadn't seen me for 10 months and was delighted in my weight loss. She kept telling me how proud she was of me everytime she came in the exam room. lol She is a good heart doctor. There is a snag. I haven't been able to get hold of the Outpatient Surgery Nurse for pre-op tests. It has to be done 48 hours before surgery. Now I have to wait until Monday to see if the call me back after sending 3 messages. If they don't call back early enough my surgery will be delayed. That has caused me concern and stress. I have to leave in the LORD's hands. I hope you are feeling much better. How is the family all doing? My hubbie is still working hard and has been pretty tired with the extra running to the doctor and surgery with me. He is a good man!

God bless you, Sandra! I appreciate your Christian love and prayers. It makes me stronger when I know I have loving Christian sisters and brothers praying for me. I really feel blessed. I hope your back is doing better. I did find with the temporary spinal cord stimulator that it will not hit everywhere the pain is. Part of my pain is to close to my heart for the stimulator to reach. I will later have to have epidurals in that part of my back to try and help with the pain. But the lower part of my back is relieved by the stimulator as well as my hips, knee areas, and feet. I had no idea it would cover all of that. I have pain in all those places. The only thing with my left hip it didn't help all the pain. I have bursitis in that hip right now from all the walking I had been doing. It hit me on the very last day and has gotten worse. I will have to have shots for that as well since it isn't nerve related. It did help the nerve pain in both my hips, though. This next surgery will be more serious. The doctor said it will involve cutting through muscle, into the spine and opening the spinal cord. Plus the incision on my right hip to place the stimulator battery. He said I would have a lot of pain just from the incisions. He told me that because I was anxious about not exercising for so long. He said I needed to heal from that and ease into the exercise. As long as I know I can ease into a exercise routine I am fine. I went through all the exercises I do. I can do just about all of them when I am able. I am starting with walking, that is if my bursitis hasn't gotten worse. Thank you again! I am glad to have you for a friend and Sister-In-Christ.
