Bio! I am a geek. I like my role playing games, I love my history, I knit, I read, I spend way too much time on the computer. :) But I also love the outdoors, and I realized that my lifestyle has become increasingly sedentary (and indoor) as I've gotten older. I'd like to be able to go camping again. I want to hike properly and not get winded before I get halfway down the trail. I want to play with my niece and keep up with her! (or at least try). I do have diabetes - well, ...

I do have diabetes - well, pre-diabetes, and my doctor has said I can control it with diet and exercise, and that I'm doing all the right things with Sparkpeople! Its going to be tough, working against so many years of apathy and sedentary behaviour, but if others can do it, so can I.

My Program:
Exercise: Walk every day 10 minute minimum exercise a day Increase dumbell weights to 8 lb from 5 lb Curves 3 times/week Diet: Weight Watchers plus food tracking. Nothing faddish or that deprives me of anything, just portion control and healthy choices. Treats AS treats. Seven + servings of veggies and fruit a day. Lifestyle: 1/ Get to 7 hrs sleep/night 2/ Learn a new hobby
