No matter what happened yesterday, today is a new day!
My Weight Loss Journey: In December of 2004, I weighed 175 pounds. I was a size 14. I was getting married in 6 months and I didn't want to keep losing my battle against weight. My Weight Loss Journey: In December of 2004, I weighed 175 pounds. I was a size 14. I was getting married in 6 months and I didn't want to keep losing my battle against weight. However, I knew that if I tried anything too gimmicky or too quick, the changes would not be permanent. That's when I came up with my plan, which I liked to think of as the"Lose when you can plan." During stressful times, I limited myself to eating 2000 calories a day, and during weeks when I had less stress, I tried to stay around 1500. I also tried to exercise one or two times a week. Using this plan, I lost about 10 pounds a year, and I maintained the loss without a lot of worry. I also started running small races, like 10k's and 5k's a few times a year. For now, I'm maintaining at around 135-140, and I wear a size 4. To maintain, I try not to go over 1700 calories a day (2000 is out of the question), and to lose I try to stay in the 1200-1500 range. I have a lot more confidence than before, and this has given me the courage to try a lot more things, including singing and acting more with a community theatre-which has been a really fun, exciting experience. This year, I hope to lose another 5-10 pounds and stay there. I think the low 130's is a great weight range for my body. We are also planning to run a 1/2 marathon this november! Woo Hoo! If I have any advice, it's this. Forgive yourself for your failings, set realistic goals, and NEVER stop trying.

I am a High School English/Drama teacher in California. My husband and I have been married for 3 and a half years. We have no children yet.

I am a Christian and I believe that part of my Christian lifestyle should include being as healthy as possible so that we are strong enough to serve God no matter what He asks.
