Sandpaper Tiger is Too Big To Fail

I do a lot of walking. Hiking is my favorite weekend activity. I love my juicer, my aasics, my hula hoop, my bicycle, and my fitbit!

What if the depression, anxiety and life long insomnia I've struggled with were the body's way of asking for movement?

Competitive team sports and the way physical education was taught to me in my early years nearly destroyed any and all desire I had for exercise. I figured it was something I just couldn't do--since I couldn't excel at competitive team sports--and unless you can crush the opponent, the education system in my country has no use for it.

When I hike, every mile I complete means I win. Every loop I finish, means I win. Every photo I take, every bird, creature, or breathtaking scene I come upon, means I win. Every day I build my endurance, every time I up my stamina, every time I get stronger or faster, I win.

And there are no losers.
The only way I lose is not to go.

I've combined elements of project management and process efficiency to help me on my journey. I've done a successful 30 day juice fast in the past, and absolutely love juice as a tool in the arsenal of fitness/weight loss.

I walk 2-3 times daily and average about 4 miles a day, some days more, some days less. On the weekends I go about 7-8 miles in a day.

My Goals:
Hike Bulow plantation ruins trail.

Get below 200 lbs by March 2013.

Hit my midpoint goal in May 2013.

Hit my final weight goal of 159 by Oct-November 2013

Rewards:

Tattoos, new hula hoops, pair of Newton running shoes, scuba certification and a coast to coast hiking trip in Ireland.

My Program:
Walk 3-5 miles daily.
Hula hoop 20 minutes every weekday.
Strength train 2-3 times a week.
Hike 1-2 days every weekend.
Incorporate movement and fitness into every day activity and social gatherings.
Limit calories.
