I am not giving up!!

One of the most important lessons I learned from Sparks is not to give up. Today is just another fresh start. I look forward to Sparks everyday. I love collecting all the points. There are so many articles to read and things to learn.

I would never be where I am today without Sparks. I have lost weight before and like so many I gain it back, plus extra. I am not on a diet now. I have started a new lifestyle and I feel healthy! I have bad and sad days and feel down at times. That ...

I would never be where I am today without Sparks. I have lost weight before and like so many I gain it back, plus extra. I am not on a diet now. I have started a new lifestyle and I feel healthy! I have bad and sad days and feel down at times. That is when I think of the lessons I have learned from Sparks. It is so wonderful to reach out to my Spark friends to get some support too. Don't give up. Relax and have a peaceful night and maybe a bubble bath, but tomorrow is another fresh new day. DO NOT GIVE UP!! Just take one day at a time.

I'll keep taking one day at a time and one step at a time. I'm sure I'll reach my goal(s), with God's help.

New year's resolution: Cheers for the New Year!!
12/26/08-Exercising at least 30 min cardio every day and ST m,w,f.
**Not beating myself up if I miss a day. I have been able to meet goals and learn many new healthy habits already.

Happy New Year to everyone!! Good luck with all of your goals in 2009. God Bless!!

Check out my teams below! The challenges and games help keep me motivated and moving!

Tips I have learned on my journey. (Not in any particular order)
1. Do strength training 3 times per week on non-consecutive days.
2.Eat protein and complex carbs after exercise.
Ex. 1/2 tuna on whole grain wheat bread.
3. 30 min cardio helps maintain my health-to loose weight it is better to have close to 60 minutes.
4. I have a long journey, don't expect to reach my goal overnight.
5. Best to exercise in the morning after a healthy breakfast.
6. Water is very important!! Especially just before, during and after exercise.
7. Sleep is just as important. 7-9 hours is best for me.
8.Rewards for even the little things are important, just don't use food.
9.There is nothing wrong with a day with no exercise or going over on calories. One step back, two forward. Tomorrow is another new fresh start. No one is perfect. Sometimes your body needs a rest too.
10.Starting with baby steps is the best way to start. I started my weight training with 1 pound weights. I started walking 10-15 minutes 3 days a week. It all starts to move you forward.
11. Eating within an hour after getting up will give your metabolism a jump start.
12. Cross training sneakers offer more support than walking or running. The running sneakers are only good for running.
13. To choose more than 1 emoticon, just hold the m button down. Happy emoticoning:)

It's been a long time since I have talked to you. I have thought about you often and wondered how you were doing. I am sorry that you have had a temporary set back in your weight goals but we all know that there would be ups and downs. Ok so you hit a down and now it is time to climb up again. I am sure that when you get this you will be well on your way to climbing back on top. You can do this!! Even though I have been off of sparkpeople for quite a while I know that it helped me to drop the 20-25 pounds that I did. You are an amazing woman! You can do this!! emoticon

I understand you don't want to be a leader anymore, but don't give up on the weight loss. You've done it before and you can do it again. I have faith in you! emoticon
