Like many of you it is not easy for me to exercise. However if I can just focus on the personal benefits I receive from it I am better off.
Regular exercise leads to better overall health, more energy, a lower risk of heart disease, diabetes, smaller waist, provides more oxygen to the brain, self confidence, and a longer life. From a mental health perspective, the mental-health benefits start right after you exercise. I like the relaxed feeling or even feeling euphoric? The mood lift, often called "runner's high," comes courtesy of natural morphine-like chemicals called endorphins. Exercise provides the brain with endorphins, which help to relieve pain, enhance your mood, and relieve stress.

I want to loose weight and do so primarily by eating correctly and by running, walking, and weight training so I can weigh 170 by December 12, 2009. I realize I am really changing my habits and my life style not just trying to lose weight.

I need to find the motivation within me to exercise daily and eat properly. Eating right is my major area of need as well as portion control. I can eat all of the right foods but do so in too large of quantities. I have been charting my food on a daily basis.
