Like many of you it is not easy for me to exercise. However if I can just focus on the personal benefits I receive from it I am better off.
Regular exercise leads to better overall health, more energy, a lower risk of heart disease, diabetes, smaller waist, provides more oxygen to the brain, self confidence, and a longer life. From a mental health perspective, the mental-health benefits start right after you exercise. I like the relaxed feeling or even feeling euphoric? The mood lift, often called "runner's high," comes courtesy of natural morphine-like chemicals called endorphins. Exercise provides the brain with endorphins, which help to relieve pain, enhance your mood, and relieve stress.
"But the feel-good effects don't stop after the endorphin rush subsides. Over time, exercise provides a major boost to your confidence. As you start working out and getting stronger, your sense of strength in other aspects of your life will naturally flourish as well. To put it another way, if you can survive my workouts, you can do anything — and when you feel that sense of empowerment, nothing will be able to stand between you and the life you want to live." Jillian McMichaels
I want to loose weight and do so primarily by eating correctly and by running, walking, and weight training so I can weigh 170 by December 12, 2009. I realize I am really changing my habits and my life style not just trying to lose weight.
Waist - 45'
Chest - 45"
Weight - 220 lbs
Thigh - 24 1/2"
Arm - 15"
Neck - 16 1/2"
a smaller stomach
a thinner waist
to fit into 34" pants
to gain better health
to prevent heart disease and diabetes
to think more clearly
to process oxygen more effectively
to have a lot more energy
to be more mentally alert
to eliminate fat around my organs
to stave off alzheimers
I need to find the motivation within me to exercise daily and eat properly. Eating right is my major area of need as well as portion control. I can eat all of the right foods but do so in too large of quantities. I have been charting my food on a daily basis.

Happy Earth Day! Today is the day to start doing something good for the planet. You can recycle or reuse things. You can change your light bulbs to energy saving ones. When you're grocery shopping ask for paper instead of plastic, or better yet bring your own bags each time. Find something that you can do today that will improve the planet and your life.

Happy Leap Day! We are given an extra day this year to do with it as you please. What will you be doing today? Even if you have to go into work, make it special for yourself. You can start you day off dancing around to your favorite song or heck sing as loud as you can to it. Maybe treat yourself to a little facial mask in the evening. How about making breakfast for dinner? Change something up today to enjoy the extra day we have received.
