Hi Sammy, I was reading what you put on Thyroid Community's Discussion Forum and have a question. You said that you knew the doctor you have is good because he was recommended by your family. Do these family members have thyroid issues? Lots of good doctors know little about how to treat someone who has thyroid issues regardless if it is hyper or hypo. Even many endo's are not that great.
May I suggest start a journal/notebook and record how you are feeling, body temperatures especially first thing in the morning, energy levels, what you are eating and when, etc. as well as any questions you may have.
Read what others have written on the thyroid team and ask your doctor about what you have found out.
Many of us on this team have found we have to be our own advocate's because the doctors do not know and some do not care about the thyroid. Many are more interested the their diabetic patients.

If I had read everything before writing this post it might not have been so long because others did address some of what i wrote. Their suggestions were good. Jane 2006 days ago
