Making Changes to Last a Lifetime

Growing up I was never a skinny girl, but I wasn't severely overweight either. The women in my family almost all battle with Thyroid condidtions, and as a result have found it harder, and even close to impossible in some cases, to get the extra weight off and keep it off. In high school I decided to take control of my health and was able to achieve my weight loss and fitness goals at the time with some of my closest girlfriends through Weight Watchers and a membership to Curves. Then there was college.... Let's just say the 'Freshman Fifteen' didn't stop at fifteen. Now being out of college for almost three years and in my mid-twenties I am 40 pounds heavier than I was at my high school graduation. I am here to make healthier choices that will hopefully stick with me for a lifetime. I want to be able to do that without resorting to those fad diets and extremely unhealthy options that are on the market these days. With dedication, hard work, and a lot of perseverance I hope to get healthy, fit, and happy. I want to do this for myself first and foremost, but also for those I love, as inspiration to a few of them even, and for the children I hope to have in a few years.

Welcome! If you need a shoulder, a friend or a virtual coffee at some point, drop by and say hello! I've just celebrated my SP seven month anniversary and am amazed at the absolutely incredible amount of support I've received. This is a fabulous site and you will be astounded at what you get out of it if you give it your all.

To celebrate your arrival at SP this Spring season, I would like to wish you a brand new start, never-ending moments of poise and balance and a joyful tip over on the scale to the side of light. I wish you a new dawn, an eternal youth and a morning star to wish on. Whatever battles you are fighting, whatever stresses may come your way, may they melt away with the winter and may you be granted a time of new light and a new life where your wildest dreams come true. ~ Michelle
