I have lots of good reasons to get fit and focus on my health: my kids, my spirit, my general enjoyment of life.

What I don't have is a good excuse for giving up, or "treating myself" to things that don't get me to my goals.

Everyday is a good day to start out doing what's good for me, and for keeping it up throughout the day. Everyday is a good day to remind myself that one slip isn't a good enough reason to fall off the wagon.

My goal this year is to not give up. Enjoy all of the journey to good health, don't just focus on how I will feel at the end, but on how I feel right now, right this second. Because taking care of myself, my mental health as well as my physical health, has no end until the VERY end.

Biggest goals:
Reach 163 ...someday. Without putting the pressure of a time limit on it.

Teach my children to be healthy by giving a good example.

Smaller goals: Lose an average of 1 lb. per week.

Drink 8 glasses of water daily.

Get some form of exercise for 30 minutes a day, minimum 3 days per week.

193 lbs... (20 lbs gone pedicure & new workout pants.

188 lbs...(25 lbs gone!) New kitchen appliance (A juicer, maybe?)

183 lbs...(30 lbs gone) New fitness shoes and family fun day.

178 lbs...New Haircut.

173 lbs...(40 lbs gone) New outfit and facial, and a weekend adventure with my kids.

168 lbs...New outfit & set new rewards based on new lifestyle!

I live in West Sacramento CA. I'm a Preschool teacher. I'm 47, a single mother of 2 girls ages 11 & 8, and 3 fur-people.

    emoticon for your concern about my upper chest muscles - stupid me, I've gone through this before, so I know what's brought this on.........I am doing better, but I think I'll take one more day off from using the weights for my workout.........as far as nurses/doctors, go, well - it's been a *saga* for sure ..........I haven't had insurance for several years, but I do now..........the thing is, I now have to decide on a primary care person (my last one retired several years ago), and I'm weighing my options as to whether to pick a new person from my old office or seek out one slightly closer to home - don't worry...........I *will* get this done!

    emoticon for the tip on the digital scale - didn't think about that (thought I can totally see that).........if that scenario should befall me, I'll just restart things from scratch (I've done that so many times that I can pretty much do that in my sleep at this point)..........have never really gotten into the measurement thing........
