211 lbs. was too heavy

I woke up on 6/24/10 with an aching body and an aching head. My body hurt as I was carrying too much weight. My head hurt because I ate 3 slices of pizza the night before and washed it down with 6-7 craft beers. I had hit my limit. I was sick of feeling like a 70 year old man (I'm 46). It was time for a change.

Thanks for stopping by and giving me some encouragement! I certainly needed it. I'm so sad it was pizza and craft beer that gave you your wake up call- because that's my fave =) But- only in moderation, and I usually pay for it in advance with a run. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the blog current!!!! Sinus infections are the absolute worst. Hope you've recovered from your Mike Tyson-esque encounter!

Heh. Yeah! Sounds like you know what I am talking about - when you love something immensely, then nothing really feels like a sacrifice if it helps you do more of what you love! You went skiing? Way cool! That's next on my list to learn! :)

Cheers,
Maya

i can really appreciate what you wrote up above "211 lbs. was too heavy". and about the aches and the advanced aging and your honest acknowledgement that you were doing it to yourself...it wasn't something that was just happening to you. i know so many people who look at their weight as though it is something happening to them...without their participation... i guess it's difficult to acknowledge but in so doing, one can regain power over their situation simply by knowing the answer to "Why?"

keep going strong!
