My name is Barb. I am a wife, sailor, teacher, and cyclist. I live in Michigan and love being outdoors. This year on 11.7.15, I will turn 50. Even though I am very active, I am overweight and borderline obese with a BMI of 29.65. I have been struggling with my weight ever since I hit 40. I want 2015 to be the year I get to my goal of 130 pounds.

My Goals:
My 12 Spark Commandments for Better Living:
1. Remember that love is the most important thing.
2. Be kind to everyone.
3. Don't gossip.
4. Laugh often.
5. Eat vegetables with every meal.
6. Always choose water.
7. Have a plan.
8. Avoid time wasters: watching TV, playing video games, aimlessly surfing the web.
9. Something is better than nothing (exercise, cleaning, saving money, etc.)
10. Don't eat off of someone else's plate.
11. Be mindful.
12. Do it NOW!


My Program:
Exercise Plan
Do 6 workouts per week. Of that 6 times, 3 must be strength training (Cathe STS). On cardio days, I'll do Zumba and cycling.

Food Plan
Shoot for 1200 calories, but no more than 1500.
Spend the weekend preparing portion-controlled meals for the week.

Why lose weight?
I want to be not just active but athletic.
I want to wear clothes that currently don't fit me.
I want to be in photographs with my family instead of hiding from the camera.

    I just wanted to pop in and say I am happy to hear that things are going well for your DH after the triple bypass. We miss having you on the team as well but know that you are doing exactly what you should be doing.
