Yeah trainer's suck! Granola guy is pretty good. I work out with him once a week on Sunday mornings and he has me do all sorts of weirdo mobility moves that actually help, but just wear me out.
Next competition is at the end of October. I'm training for it, but I'm seriously thinking about waiting till the one after in February. 3 months seems like a long time to train for an event, but it's actually kind of short.
Besides I'm seriously digging the kettlebells. I've run marathons, have lifted over 1000 lbs, so the big thing in Kettlebells is to get a Strongfirst Certification from this crazy Russian dude named Pavel Tsatsouline. It's a series of timed drills doing Double KB Swings, Double Cleans, Double Press, Double Front Squat, Snatches, and Turkish Get-ups. For Men's Masters (over 50 dudes) you do these with 20Kg KBs.....I think it would really suck....so I may shoot for it sometime in the next year or two!

I've got to tell 'ya, Crossfit seems like it's just a little too nutty for me. I see folks doing it a lot at the gyms I go to. Kipping pull-ups, burpees for time, wild kettlebell swings over your head....it looks like a great way to hurt yourself and get exhausted while you're doing it. I'd like to look up a bunch of the 20-somethings I see doing it in a few years and see how they're faring 720 days ago
