Dear God,
If you can't make me thin, could you please make all my friends fat?

My Goals:
I want to be HEALTHY and HAPPY- whether that is 200 lbs or 140 lbs. I'd prefer the 140 because I'm sure that looks better naked, but ya know- being 200 is still an -87 lb. weight loss!

My Program:
I had Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery on October 3rd, 2007. I lost 30 prior to surgery, thanks to Spark People! The other 70 has been sincere determination and hard work. Nothing bugs me more than people who are uneducated and think that surgery is the easy way out, because It most definitely was NOT!

local Sparks. Been with it for a few months now and it's
slow going but getting some great moral support so hang
in there.

Good for you for trying this before turning to gastric bypass! You're right - it's easier than most people think. Once you realize your actual caloric intake, it makes it easier to switch and make healthier decisions. Not that I don't *want* those chips and salsa with lunch! :) Welcome on board! jenn.

Welcome to Gastric Bypass! I am pre-op and I'm doing the same thing you are doing. Go to my spark page and read my story that I started on Jan. 4, 2007. You will find plenty of support and encouragement here. No question is too stupid to ask, so post away and we'll all put in our two cents worth. Utilize all the tools SP has to offer. I find tracking my food and exercise most helpful. Good luck on your weight loss journey!

Linda
