Happy New Year Serena!
Welcome and congratulations! You sound a little down and very frustrated. While I can tell you know this wont happen over night, I get the impression you don't quite believe it CAN happen.

BELIEVE! You can do this! It's not always easy...but it is always worth it! Be patient with yourself but don't give yourself excuses! Track everything that passes your lips...bad and good. Sometimes your worst day is when you learn the most. Being overweight is never about food...it's about your headspace and how you handle life...do you eat? Etc.

Also, eating the right foods help you feel fuller longer...and gives you nutrition so your body doesn't keep you searching for things you don't really want. Cutting off the sugar and salt will suck for at least 4 days...the cravings will call you, but just get through the first week and you'll be sweet! It is a drug...going to food rehab :)

Please holler if you need anything at all! You have support here and people who understand.
Be positive...don't dwell on the past and what you did or didn't Do that got you where you are. Take a snapshot and keep it for your success story! :)
Make 2013 yours! If you Decide to commit...you WILL do it! If you find excuses and are merely interested in getting healthy...well...I don't think you'll make this your final attempt at a lifestyle change. So...eat healthy...track everything...and just move a little more everyday. Even if its 10 minutes consistently ...but get your food planned first....that is 80%+ of the battle :) I can help you if you need it. Just private message me.

Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!
