I have seen your questions and comments in the acid reflux group. The directions on the OTC packages of omeoprazole are not for people taking under the direction of a doc. It IS a powerful drug but can be lifesaving for people with GERD.

I have it all, including Barrette's and starting at 187 lb and now down below 150, my weight has not had an effect on my GERD, one way or another.

What has helped is taking a daily walk and eating healthier and less refined foods.

Start out with a walk around the block, or if that's too much at first, down to the corner and back. A Pedometer is a necessity! Get one that you can carry in a pocket, expect to spend about $30. It will reset itself every night and has a 7 day memory.

Each day, record the number of steps you take under "my fitness". Try for a few more steps each day, you are very much worth the effort! Keep in touch with me and let me know how you are doing!
