A small spark for big goals!

2010 is the year for me to get fit and healthy but I need to get seriously motivated. I'm reading the book and discovered this great site, so am hoping to connect with people with similar goals.

My Goals:
Enter a summary of your goals, or just a few you would like to share.

--Be 10 kgs lighter by my 35th birthday in April this year
--Be 35 kgs lighter by my daughter's 4th b'day in Nov this year
--Be at my goal by the end of 2010 to coincide with my daughter's 1st overseas holiday - Singapore of Thailand! yay!

My Program:
I started yesterday, so am on my Fast Break goals
-- Keeping a food diary
-- Exercising every day
-- Eating 2 pieces of fruit and conscious about veggie intake
-- Increased my water intake

Personal Information:
I live in Hyderabad, India. I'm a single mom with a 3 yr old daughter. I've been overweight most of my life and have never considered seriously being fit till now. I've lost weight in the past thru maniacal exercising and calorie restriction, but that's so oppressive that I've always abadoned it after a few months. My daughter is a bundle of energy - always raring to go, full of live and I can't keep up with her. I've been wanting to shed the flab, get fit, energetic and healthy for 2 years, but have not been able to commit myself for more than a couple of weeks! I don't want to live my life like this - I would love to fit, trim and healthy to match my daughter's energy and passion for life to have an ache free and creak free body. I'm only 35 and have no business feeling so old. 2010 is the year!! Learning to start small as the book says would have been completely unimaginable to me. Hello Nattiegal-- thanks for your suggestion. I do know that 10kgs by end April is unrealistic. I am aiming at losing 10lbs - around 5 kgs, of which I have lost a tiny 1kg!! emoticon

2kgs a month is very realistic and I am still trying to get accustomed to doing this as a life change rather than a short term overhaul of my life and eating habits. It's slow, it can be frustrating..but am hanging in there! I have a crazy work schedule too which leaves me very tired, but am trying to get in 30 mins of exercise 3 times a week to start with.

Hey - if u dont mind can i suggest something ...loosing 10 kilos by your birthday in April...might be slightly unrealistic and might discourage u...while i was on the "band wagon" which i have effectively fallen off thanks to traveling and work - i had set my goal at 1-2 kilos a month - it just seems more achievable...! and less discouraging.!
