each day is a fresh start. if i mess up today, i will do better tomorrow. i can do this. i will do this. i must do this. i will concentrate on today. i can''t worry about the mistakes i may have made yesterday nor the ones i may make tomorrow; only the ones i can avoid today.

as i recently celebrated my 60th birthday, i have renewed my commitment to living a more healthy life. i have a son getting married this year, and i hope to have grandchildren to play with and help care for not long after that. (well, at least 9 months) i want to be healthy and able to do that.

physically, other than my weight, i am a healthy person. my issues are all psychological and they often interfere with my plans. that's okay, though, because i have little control over that and i have to adapt to living this way. each day is a new day!

My Goals:
i want to lose enough weight to feel healthy and energetic again.

i want to be able to look in the mirror and not be ashamed of the person looking back at me.

i want my husband to be proud to be seen with me.

i want to feel sexy in my clothes.

i want to be proud of myself!

weight loss goals.

starting weight: 1/01/17--167.4
goal 1: 2/28/17--157
goal 2: 4/30/17--150
goal 3: 6/30/17--143
goal 4: maintain until 9/15/17
final goal: 11/30/17--135

the reason for the maintenance break is that my son is getting married in september. i will have to get a dress and be sure it fits!

My Program:
i did well with wwpp, until i fell off that wagon. i tried intermittent fasting, but it didn't fit well with my lifestyle. i reset my sp program on 1/1/17 and am going back to weighing and measuring. it's hard work, but it everything worthwhile is.

exercise is varied. i am working up to getting to the gym 5 days/week. right now i'm at 4.
tues: pilates
wed: spin
thu: personal training
fri: yoga

i need to add a monday class. i'm looking at 20/20/20. cardio, strength, yoga/stretch. i would also like to add a 30 min tabata cardio class on friday before yoga and a 30 minute power house class on wed, after spin. zumba is offered on tues, after pilates, which may or may not be a bit much for me right now. i do love it, though. the treadmill is also my cardio fallback.

i'm happy with my plan and feel like something is missing from my day if i miss my workout.

Personal Information:
i am currently 60 years old. i live in massachusetts with my husband of 37 years. my oldest son now lives in seattle with his girlfriend, the middle one in mansfield, ma with his fiancée, and the youngest is in waltham, ma in a newly purchased condo.. they are my life!

Other Information:
i love to read, knit, sew, watch movies, listen to music and especially spend time with my family.

    emoticon Sometimes it feels like yesterday! I was in 6A. One of my regrets at leaving after the first year ... I was tortured but didn't have the opportunity to teach the tradition to the next classes. I would have been able to hiss at you: sixxxxxee!

    I went to Girls Latin for 7th grade. I decided it was not for me while waiting for the bus at Mattapan Station and watching the girls waiting for the bus going to Hyde Park High.

    I think we are close in age? I graduated high school in 1971.

    If you want to ask me a question about Judaism, please do. I do not consider myself an expert, but I can share what I know. I am a Reform Jew, Judaism has denominations just like Christianity, just not as many. The "Big 3" are Orthodox (of which there are variants), Conservative, and Reform. I do know things about the other denominations. Orthodox is like Catholicism--it was the only denomination for a long time in Judaism, just like Catholicism was the only Christianity that existed until Martin Luther, the founder of Lutherans, whom I guess were the first Protestants.

    Hi Ryan, It's very motivating to me knowing that you live near by. I have managed to keep off 60 lbs by logging on to SP everyday. I go to "Curves" in West Roxbury everyday. I have problems walking so I also do physical therapy exercises in the Draper Pool in West Roxbury everyday also with my husband, They also have a water fitness hour three times a week which they charge $5.00 a session. I see you go to the gym also - I have to be very careful of the type of exercises I do because of arthritis which is helped by just keeping moving somehow. We can motivate each other by tracking fitness minutes. 😄
