Sweet Loss
Trying to be fit AND sane (not one or the other). I have a very full life--full-time job, freelance work, church involvement, writing poetry, Latin American solidarity work, being a spouse & mom. And a few other things that get fit into cracks here & there. And a tendency toward insomnia . . . So I'm never going to be one of those people who devote hours every day to working out at the gym. Trying to be fit AND sane (not one or the other). I have a very full life--full-time job, freelance work, church involvement, writing poetry, Latin American solidarity work, being a spouse & mom. And a few other things that get fit into cracks here & there. And a tendency toward insomnia . . . So I'm never going to be one of those people who devote hours every day to working out at the gym. But I need & want to lose some weight & get stronger--super important as I age. It's an ongoing struggle. I'm thankful to have many good resources available for learning here at SP, & many good friends to help keep me on track.

My Goals:
* be strong & reasonably slim * get 7.5-8 hours of sleep per night * get to 148 (or less) & maintain * make excellent use of the abundant veggies & fruits we get early June to late October through a CSA (community-sponsored agriculture) project
My Program:
* get to bed by 10:30-11:00 each night * exercise 3-5 times per week * eat within my recommended range * cook good food at home & eat out less * give myself small rewards to keep it fun!
Personal Information:
I'm a writer (poet) & editor. Also love to sing harmony (which I do on my church's worship team), read, folk dance, & just contemplate beautiful things. I'm a sporadic visual artist too & look forward to returning to a couple of picture-book projects when my schedule allows.
