I'm starting new with spark people, today, December 28, 2015. I have been here before. In the past 4 years, since February 2011, I have changed from 306 pounds to around 185. for the past three years, I have not been able to get below 162. That was my lowest weight, three years ago in January. Even though I eat three meals a day, no sugar, no flour, and weigh and measure my food most of the time, I have only been able to maintain. I'm starting new with spark people, today, December 28, 2015. I have been here before. In the past 4 years, since February 2011, I have changed from 306 pounds to around 185. for the past three years, I have not been able to get below 162. That was my lowest weight, three years ago in January. Even though I eat three meals a day, no sugar, no flour, and weigh and measure my food most of the time, I have only been able to maintain. I have not been able to lose anymore. I would like to weigh 150 pounds. I am 64. In the past five years, I have had foot surgery, two neck surgeries and last year my back surgery. I am now facing knee replacement surgery this spring. I believe all this time, I have felt sorry for myself and stopped giving it my best effort. Tomorrow morning I will weigh in and promise to log every day, record food every day, and get some exercise every day even if it's only ten minutes. I need to make it all the way to goal. For me.
Update January 1, 2016:
So far so good. Not exercising every day but beginning Monday I will start going to curves and to the Rec center. Happy new year. Happy new me.
Update January 19 2016
1. Track food and exercise here at Spark.
2. Exercise 3 X a week at Curves, 5 X a week at Rec Center with husband.
3. Don't stop until I reach my goal of 160 pounds.
Plan the day every morning, track my food and report in here.
Married 41 years to the same great man; mother of 5 married kids, grandmother of 13 darling grandkids, and third year of retirement after teaching piano lessons almost 30 years. My husband is also retired from working 32 years at UPS. What's next for us? I shall get to goal this year and then we will see.
We have only one daughter and now only two granddaughters. Boys run in this family, which is just fine because we love boys too. I love to tend our grandkids, travel, play the piano, read, write music, and make quilts.

Wow.... congrats on getting into Onederland!!! I did that two years ago, but unfortunately didnt stay there too long!! This next time will different! Just stay focused and don't give yourself any slack. That scale can go back up too easy.

So nice to hear from you, Ann. Sorry you've been sick for so long!! That's just awful. Hang in there. STaying the same weight is a great accomplishment. I'm either losing or gaining, so thankfully for now I am still losing, I hope. Weigh in at the end of the month, so I'll let you know how it goes. Good luck and keep getting better!

Hi Ruth! Yay, six months, that's awesome. And look at your weight ticker! You must feel great with all that weight off. I'm doing well overall. I was very sick for a month with a crazy ear infection that I couldn't get rid of horrible. But now I'm over that and slowly trying to get back into the swing of things. As far as Spark, I'm not losing, I'm not gaining, but that will come too. So nice to hear from you!

Yeah, I am not sure I could do the low-carb part of it right now. But you must feel so good to see that weight just sliding off! Do you go to meetings or anything?
