Secret Success

I recently finished my Ph.D. and started working at a really interesting job that keeps me pretty busy most of the time. For the next year (until September 2013) my goals are to live a consistently healthy life, eating well and keeping really active. I still have quite a bit of weight to lose, but my goal is to be completely ripped under all that fat. It will be like my little secret, that the world will eventually see, as I shed the pounds :)

-- sitting in restaurant booths without awkwardness

-- comfort in various meeting room chairs

-- flying with ease (no seat size issues!)

-- walking around town with my friends, at their pace

-- Climbing my street and stairs without getting short on breath

-- feeling full of energy and able to do all the activities I really love to do but haven't really done in a long time

-- strengthened ankles

Things I'm looking forward to:

-- going to the doctor for help without him/her automatically saying it's a weight issue (getting real help for my real problems, finally!)

-- shopping for regular-sized clothes

-- stronger back so my tailbone + hip problem (old injury) doesn't cause me so much trouble

-- re-learning to skate.

-- doing a hand stand

-- rock climbing

Just stopping by to let you know I'm thinking of you & hope you're doing well. Good luck on your dissertation. I'm guessing that's why you haven't posted on the mileage thread on Dandy Lions in a while. Writing a book tends to take it out of you. An academic book to boot. yeesh!

That means no skipping though & you haven't missed a day of exercise. emoticon What exercise do you do? I see that you're a member of the Rookie Runners. Is that your favorite form of cardio? It is mine for sure though if I had a pool access, I'd love to swim more! emoticon Hope you're having a great day!
