ive had trouble with my weight my whole life but i was never considered "obese", just "thick" i guess :P the real problem started my freshman year in college. there was a week long freshman orientation program before classes started and at the end of that week i already noticed my clothes fitting tighter!!! holy cow the dining courts got me good!!! by the end of the semester i had gained about 30 pounds and i looked and felt terrible. thankfully by the time spring semester started i found SP and started exercising (i had never been to the gym before!) and eating healthy :) by summer i had almost reached my goal weight, but being home for some reason just threw me off completely and i gained all the weight back REALLY quickly. ever since then ive been struggling to get back on track and actually STAY on track with eating healthy, working out, etc. i can usually do it for about 3 weeks then i just get too stressed from exams (im definitely a stress-eater) or i see my friends eating really terrible-for-you-but-oh-so-delicious food and i have a "cheat day" which turns into a "cheat couple of days" which turn into a "cheat month"... you get the idea.

anyway, spark has helped me learn a lot about health, exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle changes, and i love it :) i try to work out about 4 times a week by doing cardio (i used to rely heavily on ellipticals but i really love to run now), and i also follow a healthy, balanced meal plan that focuses on lots of fruits and veggies, legumes, lean meat, and an abundance of water!

As of the end of may 2012 im about 15 lbs away from my goal! :D my weight loss journey is about 2/3 of the way over, but then the new journey beings.. maintenance! i cant wait :D

JUNE GOALS!

Nutrition:
-stay within calorie ranges every day
-stay within macronutrient ranges every day
-drink 10-18 eight ounce glasses every day

Exercise:
-1,250 fitness minutes this month (try, try, try!)!
-exercise 5-6 days per week

Attitude:
-keeping it positive :)

Body:
-lose 6 pounds this month
-start toning up

Other:
-call dad and grandma at least once a week :)
-help keep my sparkfriends motivated and on track!

once i reach my goal weight there are a few things i need to do (easier said than done, but doable none the less!)

-maintain goal weight

-stay consistently
active

-cook more! :)

-RUN A HALF MARATHON

My Program:
im aiming for a lifestyle change, which we all know is so much harder than just sticking to a 'diet'. to help reach this ultimate goal ive set little goals to keep me on track along the way

Personal Information:
im a happy and optimistic person! running is my favorite way to work out, but i tend to use ellipticals a lot too. as for strength training.. ill have to work on that :P i love life!

I have an appointment with orthopedics on Friday so I hope I'll find out more then.
I'm a stress eater, too, so I feel you. Final exams....I remember those...kind of makes me glad I'm done with school ;-) I hope yours go well :-)
