An Athlete On The Inside...

It's been months since I've hit the gym, put on running shoes, and squeezed into my old gym shorts.
I used to be an athlete, a runner that won races and accomplished the goals set out before me. I never thought I would fall off the wagon so far as to gain 28 pounds and lose most of the muscle that I had sweated so hard for. I never thought that my jeans would get too tight, or that my back would start to grow wings that I swear could let me fly if I tried hard enough.

--But that's where I am. An EX-Athlete. I strive now to be one again, and to let my legs do what they love most: run. This is my page, those are my blogs, and this my journey.

Thanks for adding me as a friend and commenting on my page. I have been off the wagon myself. My daughter and grandson came for a week in April, so I didn't track my food, etc. that week. Then, the next week we had really bad weather in Alabama and the state was devastated by tornadoes, so the stress from all that just shook me off track. Excuses, huh? I am now visiting my daughter and her family in Florida, and I have spent more time on here today, than I have in awhile. I plan on getting back on track hopefully next week and get serious again. I am on Lyrica for my fibromyalgia and Cymbalta. I also take medicine for my RA. All of it makes me gain weight and retain fluid. I am fighting an uphill battle. I wish you the best of luck with your journey. We can do this together.
