I was a 3 sport athlete in high school which all went down hill in college. I began to gain weight from the poor choices I made and now 10 years later Im still battling with weight. I am a wife, a mother, and a runner. I am trying to live the healthiest lifestyle that I can and set a good healthy example for my two kids. I was a 3 sport athlete in high school which all went down hill in college. I began to gain weight from the poor choices I made and now 10 years later Im still battling with weight. But this time, Im winning!

I started my weight loss journey 2 years ago after I had my second child. During my pregnancy I topped the scales at 274 lbs. I realized after my second that I wanted to be that hot mom! the one that could keep up running around with my kids. I started going to the gym and started working out on the treadmill. I had no aspirations to ever be a "real" runner and was just burning calories on the treadmill. One day I happened to meet another mom who was as driven as I was to lose weight and get healthy. We somehow decided it would be a good idea to sign up for a half marathon. I had done 5K races and had no problem. but 13.1!! seriously?? So we trained through the very hot summer and ran our first half marathon in October of 2010! Somewhere during our training, we decided that if we could do 13.1, we could do 26.2! Well as i gear un to run my first marathon in less than 2 weeks, I think back over my training. Less than a year ago I was 230 lbs starting to run. I ran my first 13.1 in october weighing 200 lbs. Now Im getting ready to run 26.2 miles at 187. I have become a "real" runner! I am healthy and setting a great example for my kids. I have also found my passion and my stress relief.

Running has become my therapy. I am a full time working mother of two little ones. Running is my ME time and I can think and get my head on straight while I pound pavement.

I joined this site to help me track my activites and help me to see what I need to do to lose the last 40 lbs that I have to lose. My goal is to wear a 2 piece bathing suit to the beach and be comfortable. More importantly I want to improve my health and let everyone know that NOTHING is impossible. You can do anything that you want to do if you put your mind to it. At 230 lbs I never thought I would be getting ready to run a marathon but here I am, less than 2 weeks away from the biggest accomplishment in my life!

My Goals:
My goal is to lose weight but not by dieting but by incorporating healthy choices into my daily life and to be a good role model for my children.

I want to help inspire others to get healthy by sharing my experiences.

My Program:
I run 3-4 days a week for a total of 20-30 miles. I also crosstrain and am about to start the P90X program to help tone the areas of my body that are becoming lose from losing weight. I eat healthy by chosing fruits and veggies over highly processed foods.

Other Information:
Nike says it all in their slogan, "Just Do It." I live by that saying. If you want to do something, stop talking about it and start doing something about it. You are responsible for your own destiny. Make your life what you want your life to be!
