Welcome to my whacky world....

I am just a girl. I am on a journey to obtain my goal weight. What exactly the number is changes every so often. I started SP in 2009. I was 220+ at that time. Today I am in the 170s. And much healthier.

Since I began SparkPeople, I have become a runner, a healthy eater, I have run a marathon, become a cyclist, taken up kayaking, hiking, weekend road racing....just to name a few.

From 2009 until 2014, I have taken off approximately 40 pounds and kept it off. I ...

From 2009 until 2014, I have taken off approximately 40 pounds and kept it off. I still have a ways to go, but I am doing my best every day, and that's all anyone can ask.

I try to run several days a week. I work out at a gym on the weights very occasionally. I endeavor this summer to learn to swim laps for exercise and possibly to try and complete a triathlon. I would also like to get more fit by lifting weights, but I am sort of still intimidated by the power lifters.

I thank you for reading my page and wish you all the best on your own journey. Mine has been a long and powerful struggle with emotional eating that I have finally gotten a handle on. It has not been easy, but it has definitely been worth it.

Personal Information:
I am a reformed couch potato. Thanks to Spark People and the C25K program, I can't get enough exercise. I can't get enough of the outdoors. I loathe sitting on my arse and wasting time. There is so much beauty out there yet to be discovered.

I sometimes don't realize how old I am. People repeatedly revel in reminding me. But I truly have more energy now than I had when I was in my 20s.

Other Information:
I love hiking, kayaking, going out dancing with my LOVE (and a whole bunch of other stuff I care not to mention.) :)

I am currently participating in a Biggest Loser Competition at work. It has served me well as a great motivating tool. If you have that available to you, I encourage you to sign up.

Happy Sunday. Hope you're summer is going great. Are you still on track to do all you can today to reach your goals tomorrow? If so, great! If not, what can you change today that will help you feel accomplished? One little thing. Drink more water? Cut out soda? Go for a walk? Small changes add up.
