Welcome to Mari-Land....

Thanks for stopping by my Spark Page.

I started out here 40 pounds ago, in 2009. At that time, I was a single mom to three wonderful kids. Since then, I have lost 40 pounds, gotten off the couch, with the help of C25K, and become a marathoner, a cyclist, and now a swimmer.

This year I completed my first triathlon. I have now done four. I am training to do my first Half Ironman next year in Augusta.

It all started with a Spark. I took a baby step. And I haven't looked back. My life is now dramatically different....for the BETTER. Oh, and I got MARRIED last December. So I'm not a single mom any more. :)

Good luck on your journey. Stop by and say HI. Make me a friend. I will try to encourage you and hope you'll do the same.

Personal Information:
I am a reformed couch potato. Thanks to Spark People and the C25K program, I can't get enough exercise. I can't get enough of the outdoors. I loathe sitting on my arse and wasting time. There is so much beauty out there yet to be discovered.

I sometimes don't realize how old I am. People repeatedly revel in reminding me. But I truly have more energy now than I had when I was in my 20s.

Other Information:
I love hiking, kayaking, going out dancing with my LOVE (and a whole bunch of other stuff I care not to mention.) :)

I am currently participating in a Biggest Loser Competition at work. It has served me well as a great motivating tool. If you have that available to you, I encourage you to sign up.

Happy Sunday. Hope you're summer is going great. Are you still on track to do all you can today to reach your goals tomorrow? If so, great! If not, what can you change today that will help you feel accomplished? One little thing. Drink more water? Cut out soda? Go for a walk? Small changes add up.
