Thanks for stopping by my Spark Page.

I started out here 44 pounds ago, in 2009. At that time, I was a single mom to three wonderful kids. Since then, I have lost 44 pounds, gotten off the couch, with the help of C25K, and become a marathoner, a cyclist, and now a swimmer and triathlete.

I got married in December 2014. My husband, a 3X Ironman was an amazing support for my health and wellness journey. Unfortunately, he completed suicide in January of 2016, after being placed on testosterone replacement.

The fact that he took his life was hard enough. But in our case, he did so in my presence, in our car. Right before my eyes. That act took a lot from me. It stole a lot of my life, too. I know he wasn't trying to hurt me. He must have been hurting so terribly to do what he did. And I had no idea. I think that medicine did something in his brain and he just couldn't take it anymore.

After his death, within five months, I had regained 25 of the 40 pounds I had taken off with a lot of hard work and determination. And a little help from my friends at SparkPeople.

I was miserable again. In more ways than one. I was without my love, my soulmate, my running partner, my everything. And I was fueling my sadness with food. And I was stuffing my emotions down with whatever was handy. And it wasn't pretty. And as I said, I just plain felt miserable.

Enter my friend Fae and her introduction of the health and wellness program she was losing weight on like no other plan before. I kept seeing her Facebook posts and I couldn't believe my eyes. So, like any good friend, I FB messaged her and asked what she was doing. And boy am I glad I did.

She introduced me to the best health and wellness program I've ever been on and since July 20th, 2016, I am already down 17 pounds!!!! YAY. GO ME!!!

I am headed to Italy in October, and I would love to lose another 10 or 15 pounds by then. I hope you'll journey alongside me as we reach our health and fitness goals together.

I am a reformed couch potato. Thanks to Spark People and the C25K program, I can't get enough exercise. I can't get enough of the outdoors. I loathe sitting on my rear as life passes me by. There is so much beauty out there yet to be discovered.

I sometimes don't realize how old I am. People repeatedly revel in reminding me. But I truly have more energy now than I had when I was in my 20s.

Other Information:
I love hiking, kayaking, going out dancing.
