A continuous work in process.

I started out life being a very skinny kid. I remember even being teased about it! I was "toothpick" or "Matchstick" and I always hated it. I was familiar with obesity though, My mother has been obese since I can remember. I also had a very obese Grandfather and Uncle. In my house growing up we were a family of 7. I have 4 sisters. We never had any junk food it the house growing up and we basically ate what we were given or we didn't eat. We weren't starving but we were all very thin. I had thyroid cancer at age 16 and had my entire thyroid removed. I still didn't gain any weight. When I first moved out of the house and in with my hubby. I had the freedom to eat whatever I wanted. I remember once we went and got all the fixings for sundaes and ate that for dinner. The first time in my life I had really put on weight was with my first pregnancy. I gained 60 lbs. But, I was still young and had a young metabolism so I lost all of it with breastfeeding. Shortly after, I decided to get healthy. I ate very clean. Only whole grains, proteins, and lots of fruits and veggies. I also did a lot of walking. My son Ryan and I went for walks every day. So no weight problem at all. Then I had my 2nd pregnancy. I was maintaining my healthy lifestyle and only gained about 20 lbs. Every ounce of it was gone by my 6 week checkup after she was born. I remember wearing a pair of size 1 jeans to my appointment.

So, when did it all fall apart? When I was 30 I was going through a horrible ordeal in my life and started eating for comfort, and stopped working out. By the time I was 35 I had gained 100 lbs.
So now I am 39 and cant seem to get it under control. I lost 40 lbs in 2006, and have gained back 20. I cant believe I am above 200 again! I got very busy with work, and have begun neglect myself. I was looking back at a blog I wrote in March, disgusted with myself for getting back to 190....Hellllllloo!!! It creeps on very suddenly. I still cant believe that I set myself back 20 lbs!

Today is October 16. I weigh 202lbs today. I have 5 1/2 months left till my 40th birthday and really want to be close to goal by then. I have 80 lbs left to lose But am hoping to lose 50 by my birthday. I know I can do it...I know what to do...I just need to do it!
