2015- A new year, A new me

Never give up!!

Hopefully SparkPeople and my Lord can help me get healthy.

SparkPeople really has been fantastic for me. My friends and family have no idea that I'm a member and have never even heard of SP. Why have I never mentioned it to them? Because "You don't need to lose weight. You are great right now" etc etc. That's what my friends and family say in regards to my journey.. But what they don't understand is that I'm not on a quest to lose weight. I want to lose ...

SparkPeople really has been fantastic for me. My friends and family have no idea that I'm a member and have never even heard of SP. Why have I never mentioned it to them? Because "You don't need to lose weight. You are great right now" etc etc. That's what my friends and family say in regards to my journey.. But what they don't understand is that I'm not on a quest to lose weight. I want to lose inches on my waist/hips, I want to tone up and I want to adopt a healthy lifestyle so I can live longer. That might not mean much when you're not quite 23 but it's true.

Therefore some of my goals include: eating more fruits/veggies. Drinking 8 glasses of water a day. Getting minimum 8 hours of sleep of day. Get up to running a 10K. Getting ready for the Ride to Conquer Cancer in July.

My thoughts, in regards to myself are often, what I call "poisonous". 99% of the time, thoughts reflecting myself are negative.Therefore not only am I on a quest to change my outward appearance with the help of SparkPeople, I am also hoping to change the inside and hopefully get rid of these "poisonous" thoughts.

My Goals:
Ongoing goals:

1)Drink 8 glasses of water daily
2)Minimum of 60 minutes of exercise a day
3)Eat 3 fruits/veggies every day
4)ST every day

Long term:
1)To feel better about myself and have better self-esteem (and be less critical-I am my own best friend. With only 1 body and 1 chance to treat it right, I need to do this now. It will not get any easier as I get older!)
2)To not care what anybody says about my body- I am the most important one.

My Program:
Throughout my time at Spark my program has evolved in many ways.

Nutrition
1) Most days eating 3 meals a day. Still working on getting closer to my calorie range.


Fitness
1) Exercise is my drug. No matter what- 60 minutes a day minimum.

2)Need to get back into strength training.
